Rhipsalidopsis, commonly known as Easter or Spring Cactus, is a vibrant genus of epiphytic cacti native to the Atlantic coastal mountain forests of southeastern Brazil, particularly in the states of Paraná and Santa Catarina. These cacti thrive at altitudes ranging from 350 to 1300 meters, where they grow on trees in the humid, subtropical rainforest environment. As epiphytes, Rhipsalidopsis absorb moisture and nutrients from the air and surrounding debris. Known for their stunning, colorful flowers that bloom around Easter, they have become popular ornamental plants, especially for their ability to thrive in shaded, humid conditions.
