Rebutia sp. (Orange)

R45,00

Rebutia sp. (Orange) is a small, clump-forming cactus valued for its bright, showy blooms and compact growth. The plant forms low, rounded stems that cluster tightly over time. These stems are green to slightly grey-green and are covered in fine spines arranged in neat spirals. As a result, the plant has a soft, textured appearance despite being a cactus.

In spring and summer, it produces a profusion of bright orange, daisy-like flowers. In addition, the blooms often appear in rings around the base of the stems, creating a strong contrast against the green body. The flowers are short-lived individually, but the plant can flower repeatedly under good conditions.

Soil: Very well-draining cactus mix
Growth: Low, clumping, globular cactus
Best for: Small pots, cactus collections, and sunny windowsills

Growing Notes

Rebutia sp. (Orange) thrives in bright light and warm conditions. Additionally, it prefers a strict wet-dry cycle, where the soil dries completely before watering again. Good drainage is essential, especially during cooler months, to prevent rot.

Protect from harsh midday sun
Although it tolerates strong light, intense midday sun can scorch or stress the stems in hot climates. Therefore, morning sun with light afternoon shade is often ideal in very warm regions.
