Euphorbia guentheri, also known as the Sausage Spurge, is a captivating succulent with distinctive foliage and growth patterns. Native to Kenya, this plant is admired for its unique appearance and springtime blooms.

Key Features:
Cylindrical Stems: Euphorbia guentheri features long, cylindrical green stems that are adorned with prominent spine-tipped tubercles. These tubercles add texture and interest to the plant.
Green Obovate Leaves: Small, green obovate leaves emerge from the tubercles along the stems, contributing to the plant’s distinctive look.
Spring Flowers: In spring, the plant produces small flowers with red glands, enclosed by greenish-white bracts tinged with pink to purple, adding a subtle splash of colour.
Native habitat: Native to Kenya. It grows among grass in open scrub in Taita-Taveta County at elevations that range from 900 to 1,000m.


Care Requirements:

Light: Prefers full sun to partial shade. Ensure it receives plenty of sunlight to maintain vibrant green stems and healthy growth.
Water: Requires minimal watering. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot.
Soil: Thrives in well-draining, sandy or gravelly soils. A succulent or cactus potting mix is ideal for maintaining proper drainage.
Temperature: Best suited for temperatures between 15-30°C. The plant is drought-tolerant but should be protected from frost.
Propagation: Easily propagated from stem cuttings. Allow cuttings to dry for a few days before planting to avoid rot.
