Euphorbia globosa

R65,00

Euphorbia globosa, also known as the Globose Spurge, is a charming dwarf succulent native to the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. This plant is admired for its unique, cushion-like form and dense, globular stem segments.

Key Features:
Globular Stem Segments: Euphorbia globosa forms a dense cushion of globular, spineless stem segments. These segments are packed closely together, giving the plant its distinctive, rounded appearance.
Swollen Base: The plant grows from a swollen base that supports its many stem segments, contributing to its compact and cushiony form. This base provides stability and a striking visual effect.
Native Habitat: Found in karroid scrub and gravelly flat areas from Uitenhage (renamed Kariega) to Port Elizabeth, this succulent is adapted to the region’s dry and rocky conditions.

Care Requirements:

Light: Prefers full sun to partial shade. Adequate sunlight helps maintain the plant’s vibrant green colour and compact form.
Water: Requires minimal watering. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot.
Soil: Thrives in well-draining, sandy or gravelly soils. Use a succulent or cactus potting mix to ensure proper drainage.
Temperature: Best suited for temperatures between 15-30°C. The plant is drought-tolerant but should be protected from frost.
Propagation: Easily propagated from offsets or stem segments. Allow cuttings to dry for a few days before planting to prevent rot.

Dimensions:
Typically reaches 10-15cm and can spread up to 20-25cm

Plants on offer: 4-5cm rooted. Shipped without pot or soil.
