Description

  • Growth habit: Epiphytic, with long, flat, leaf-like stems (cladodes) that cascade gracefully, making it ideal for hanging baskets or elevated pots.

  • Stems: Medium to deep green, slightly scalloped edges, fleshy and flexible.

  • Flowers: Large, star-shaped blooms with vivid red to crimson outer petals and a lighter, often pinkish or whitish centre. The flowers are showy, symmetrical, and typically open in the evening, sometimes lasting into the next morning.

  • Blooming season: Mainly spring to early summer, with mature plants capable of producing multiple blooms in a season.

  • Size: Flowers can reach 15–20 cm in diameter under good growing conditions.
