Tromotriche revoluta fma tigrida

R65,00

Tromotriche revoluta fma tigrida is a striking stapeliad succulent from southern Africa, admired for its sculptural stems and show-stopping “tiger-striped” flowers. The blooms are the star of this plant, featuring wine-red and light yellow concentric stripes on the corolla lobes, with quivering, club-shaped hairs that add movement and texture. These unique flowers make it a standout in any succulent collection.

The plant itself grows as a low, loosely branched shrub up to 30 cm tall, with leafless stems that are upright to decumbent. The stems are four-angled with small tooth-like points along the ridges, and they arise from slender underground rhizomes that allow the plant to spread across the ground. The stems perform photosynthesis, as the leaves are reduced to tiny rudiments.

Floral Highlights

The flowers emerge from the sides of the upper stems, usually 1–3 at a time. They are 30–45 mm across, with strongly recurved lobes that curl backward. Consequently, the bold wine-red and yellow striped pattern creates a dramatic, tiger-like effect. Each flower carries the characteristic vibratile hairs that quiver in the slightest breeze, adding liveliness to your display.
