Cyrtanthus sanguineus is a perennial bulb that forms clumps of lush green, strappy leaves and produces beautiful, funnel-shaped, bright red flowers with curled lobes in late summer, between January and April. The flowers have a subtle scent.
Widespread in the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu Natal provinces of South Africa and in the eastern tropical African countries, Kenya, Tanzania and Sudan.
