Euphorbia Japonica

R45,00

Euphorbia Japonica, also known as Euphorbia ‘Cocklebur’, is a compact, dwarf succulent valued for its unique foliage and clumping growth habit. Its tufted, pineapple-like foliage and dense clumping habit make it an appealing choice for South African gardens.

Key Features:
Compact Growth: Euphorbia Japonica forms a dense, low-growing clump with a short, partly underground caudex.
Tufted Foliage: The plant produces a tuft of long, green, deciduous leaves at the apex, resembling a small pineapple.
Hybrid Nature: This species is a hybrid between Euphorbia bupleurifolia and Euphorbia susannae, combining features from both parent plants.

Care Requirements:

Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Some direct sunlight can enhance its foliage, but avoid intense midday sun.
Water: Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Water sparingly to avoid root rot.
Soil: Thrives in well-draining soil, such as a mix designed for succulents or cacti. Ensure good drainage to prevent waterlogging.
Temperature: Best suited for temperatures between 15-30°C. Protect from frost and extreme cold.
Propagation: Can be propagated from stem cuttings. Allow cuttings to dry and callous before planting to reduce the risk of rot.

Dimensions:
Typically grows to 20-30cm and can spread up to 30-40cm

Plants on offer: 6-10cm rooted. Shipped without pot or soil.
