Schlumbergera ‘Bright Magenta’
R45,00
Schlumbergera ‘Bright Magenta’ is a striking unidentified (NOID) Zygocactus cultivar known for its vivid, jewel-toned flowers that range from bright to deep magenta.
Schlumbergera ‘Bright Magenta’ thrive in bright, indirect light and need well-draining soil that stays slightly moist but not soggy. They prefer moderate temperatures (6-28°C) and humidity, and benefit from a slightly acidic soil pH (5.5-6.2).
Detailed Growing Conditions:
-
-
Light:Zygocactus prefer bright, indirect light or filtered sunlight. They can tolerate some direct morning sun, but avoid exposing them to intense midday sun, as it can scorch the stems.
-
Watering:Water when the top part of soil feels dry. Allow the soil to dry out between watering to prevent root rot.
-
-
Humidity:They appreciate high humidity, but will survive in lower level of humidity.
-
Temperature:Ideal temperatures range from 6 to 28°C.
-
Soil:Use a well-draining soil mix, such as a mix of houseplant potting soil, coco peat and perlite or vermiculite.
-
Fertilizing:Fertilize with a balanced, diluted organic fertilizer during the growing season (spring and summer).
-
Flowering:Zygocactus flower in the autumn and winter, and to encourage blooming, they need a drier period and cooler temperatures in the late summer/early autumn.
